Markood Vendor Guidelines

These guidelines explain the policies, standards, and best practices for businesses selling on Markood. All vendors must read and follow these requirements.

Markood is a new marketplace. Performance programmes, commission benefits, rankings, and vendor rewards may be introduced gradually as the platform grows. Markood will not promise unverified sales increases, search visibility, or vendor benefits.

Become a Markood Vendor

Quick Summary

Every Markood vendor must:

  • Operate through a verified business registered or legally established in Sweden.
  • Provide accurate business, product, pricing, tax, stock, and banking information.
  • Accept and prepare orders within the time displayed in the Vendor Dashboard.
  • Support Markood's 1–24 hour delivery model for eligible products and locations.
  • Keep live-chat availability and store opening hours accurate.
  • Respond to live-chat messages as quickly as possible when online.
  • Respond to offline customer messages and support requests within 12 hours.
  • Package products safely and complete the required delivery handover.
  • Follow Swedish consumer, product-safety, tax, privacy, and e-commerce requirements.
  • Treat customers, drivers, Markood employees, and other vendors professionally.

Performance Programme

Does Markood currently use vendor tiers?

Markood may introduce New Vendor, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels after the platform has collected enough reliable performance data.

Before launching this programme, Markood will clearly publish:

  • How each metric is calculated
  • The measurement period
  • Minimum completed-order requirements
  • Qualification and removal conditions
  • Tier benefits
  • Commission effects, if any
  • Payout eligibility
  • How vendors can appeal incorrect metrics

New Vendor Period

New vendors may begin with an initial monitoring period while Markood evaluates:

  • Business and product verification
  • Stock accuracy
  • Order acceptance
  • Preparation times
  • Product quality
  • Cancellations
  • Customer communication
  • Returns and complaints
  • Delivery handover performance

Markood should not promise reduced commissions, weekly payouts, priority placement, or dedicated account managers until these benefits are officially available.

New vendors should have access to all essential seller tools needed to operate their stores successfully.

Account and Registration

Complete Business Verification

Required

Markood currently accepts genuine businesses and shops registered or legally established to operate in Sweden.

Eligible business structures may include:

  • Sole trader — Enskild näringsverksamhet

  • Trading partnership — Handelsbolag (HB)
  • Limited partnership — Kommanditbolag (KB)

  • An appropriately registered Swedish branch — Filial
  • Markood may request:
  • Business-registration or tax-registration evidence
  • Organisation number or relevant sole-trader identification
  • F-tax or applicable FA-tax information
  • VAT number or evidence of an applicable VAT exemption
  • Owner or authorised-representative identification
  • Beneficial-owner information, where applicable
  • Registered and operating addresses
  • Business contact information
  • Verified bank-account information
  • Licences or permits for regulated products
  • Supplier invoices or proof of authority to sell branded products

Accurate Business Information

Required

Keep the following information accurate and current:

  • Legal and trading names
  • Organisation and tax information
  • Business and return addresses
  • Contact details
  • Ownership information
  • Licences and permits
  • Bank and payout details
  • Store opening hours

Store Profile

Recommended

Add a clear, professional:

  • Store logo
  • Banner
  • Store description
  • Contact information
  • Business hours
  • Live-chat availability
  • Return information
  • Fulfilment settings

Accounts and Multiple Stores

Approval Required

Each registered business should operate through one primary Markood vendor account.

A business may add multiple approved shops, branches, or brands under its primary account. Each approved store may have separate:

  • Products and inventory
  • Staff permissions
  • Opening hours
  • Live-chat availability
  • Preparation times
  • Delivery settings
  • Return address
  • Voluntary return conditions

The review time depends on document completeness and whether additional verification is required. Markood should not guarantee approval within two or three days.

Material changes may require renewed verification.

A complete profile helps customers understand and trust your business. Markood does not guarantee a specific increase in visibility, traffic, or sales.

Creating additional vendor accounts without Markood's written approval is prohibited. Unauthorised duplicate accounts may be restricted, especially when used to avoid fees, performance reviews, suspensions, or other policy requirements.

A separate vendor account may be approved for a different legal entity, ownership structure, bank account, tax arrangement, or independently operated brand.

Product Listings

Accurate Product Information

Required

Every listing must provide truthful and current information, including:

  • Product name and brand
  • Description and specifications
  • Product condition
  • Correct price
  • VAT information
  • Stock availability
  • Variations such as size or colour
  • Weight and dimensions
  • Warranty information, where applicable
  • Included and missing accessories
  • Compatibility requirements
  • Defects or limitations
  • Delivery and handling requirements

High-Quality Images

Recommended

Upload clear, well-lit images that accurately represent the product.

Where possible:

  • Use images of at least 1000 × 1000 pixels.
  • Show multiple useful angles.
  • Show important product details.
  • Display packaging and included accessories.
  • Use lifestyle images only when they accurately represent the product.
  • Use images that you own or are authorised to use.

Proper Categorisation

Required

Select the correct:

  • Category and subcategory
  • Brand
  • Product type
  • Condition
  • Variations
  • Attributes

Prohibited and Restricted Products

Prohibited or Approval Required

Do not list:

  • Counterfeit products
  • Stolen products
  • Illegal goods
  • Recalled or unsafe products
  • Fraudulent or non-existent products
  • Illegal drugs
  • Weapons or explosives prohibited by Markood
  • Products that violate intellectual-property rights
  • Products prohibited under Swedish or applicable EU law

Stock Management

Required

Inventory must reflect actual availability.

Update stock immediately when availability changes. Do not wait 24 hours if the product is already unavailable.

Do not accept an order unless the correct product and variation are available. Repeated cancellations caused by inaccurate stock may affect store standing.

Pricing

Required

Vendors may set their prices, but all pricing must be genuine, transparent, and legally compliant.

Do not use:

  • Artificial previous prices
  • Misleading discounts
  • Hidden charges
  • Bait pricing
  • Coordinated price manipulation
  • False urgency
  • Fake promotional claims

Misleading listings may be corrected, hidden, or removed.

Do not claim that five images increase sales by a specific percentage unless Markood has verified data supporting that statement.

Incorrect categorisation may reduce discoverability and could result in the listing being moved, hidden, or removed.

Regulated products may require Markood's approval and additional licences, safety documents, supplier records, or authenticity evidence.

The customer must see the correct total product price before placing an order.

Order Fulfilment

Order Acceptance

Required

Review every new order immediately.

Accept the order only when:

  • The correct product is available.
  • The displayed price is correct.
  • The order can be prepared within the allowed time.
  • The vendor can meet the chosen fulfilment method.

Preparation Time

Required

Markood aims to deliver eligible orders within 1–24 hours. Vendors must therefore prepare orders according to the exact timer displayed in the Vendor Dashboard.

A general 24–48 hour processing period does not align with Markood's standard delivery model.

Preparation time may vary depending on:

  • Product type
  • Store location
  • Delivery address
  • Driver availability
  • Product size and weight
  • Special handling requirements
  • Scheduled delivery arrangements

Delivery and Tracking

Required

Depending on the selected fulfilment method, delivery may be completed by:

  • Markood Delivery
  • The vendor's approved delivery team
  • An approved external delivery partner
  • Customer pickup
  • Update every order accurately as it progresses:
  • Accepted → Preparing → Ready for Collection → Handed to Driver → Completed

Packaging

Required

Vendors must:

  • Inspect every product before packing.
  • Confirm the correct item, variation, and quantity.
  • Use clean and appropriate packaging.
  • Protect fragile, liquid, electronic, valuable, or heavy products.
  • Include required care, safety, assembly, or warranty information.
  • Attach the correct order label.
  • Avoid exposing unnecessary customer information.

Driver Handover

Required

Before handing over an order:

  • Confirm the driver's identity.
  • Confirm the order number.
  • Check that every package is included.
  • Complete the required scan, code, or digital confirmation.
  • Record any permitted handover evidence.
  • Never give an order to an unverified person.

Large or Heavy Products

Required

Provide accurate:

  • Weight
  • Dimensions
  • Number of packages
  • Handling requirements
  • Vehicle requirements
  • Lifting requirements
  • Stair or lift information, where relevant
  • Assembly requirements
  • Scheduled-delivery requirements

Vendor Cancellations

Restricted

Vendor cancellations should be rare and based on a genuine reason, such as:

  • Product unavailable
  • Product damaged before handover
  • Incorrect listing information
  • Safety concern
  • Verified inability to fulfil the order

Orders that are not answered within the displayed timer may be cancelled or reassigned.

Do not mark an order as ready, handed over, or delivered before that event has occurred.

Branded packaging is optional and must not create unnecessary waste or affect product safety.

Incorrect information may cause delays, additional charges, failed collection, or cancellation.

Select the correct cancellation reason. Repeated avoidable cancellations may result in listing restrictions, performance review, or other proportionate action.

Markood should not publish a fixed cancellation threshold such as 5% until it has defined the measurement period, minimum order volume, exclusions, and appeal process.

Live Chat and Customer Communication

Live Chat Availability

Required When Enabled

If live chat is enabled, keep your availability status accurate.

When shown as Online, respond as quickly as reasonably possible. If staff are unavailable, change the status to Offline or use an automatic message showing when the customer can expect a response.

Do not leave the store marked as online when nobody is available to answer.

Offline Messages

Required

Respond to offline customer messages within 12 hours, or sooner when the question affects an active order.

Urgent order delays, substitutions, damage, or availability problems must be communicated immediately through approved Markood tools.

Professional Communication

Required

Communication must be:

  • Respectful
  • Clear
  • Helpful
  • Relevant to the order
  • Free from abusive or discriminatory language

Customer Information

Required

Use customer information only when necessary to:

  • Fulfil an order
  • Arrange approved delivery
  • Handle a return or complaint
  • Meet a legal obligation

Harassment, threats, pressure, or abusive behaviour may result in immediate account review.

Do not use customer information for unrelated advertising or move customers to an external payment method.

Returns, Refunds, and Disputes

Store Return Information

Required

Every store must publish clear return information. A store may provide more generous voluntary conditions, such as accepting eligible unopened products for up to 30 days.

Store policies cannot remove or reduce customers' statutory rights under Swedish consumer law.

Return Requests

Required

Review return requests within the deadline displayed in the Vendor Dashboard.

Check:

  • The reason for the return
  • Order and delivery dates
  • Product condition
  • Photographs
  • Packaging
  • Customer explanation
  • Relevant listing information
  • Possible resolutions may include:
  • Requesting additional information
  • Return for inspection
  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Price reduction
  • Full or partial refund, where applicable

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Products

Required

If the vendor supplied a faulty, damaged, or incorrect product, respond promptly and cooperate with the appropriate resolution.

The customer should generally not bear return costs caused by an accepted product fault or vendor error.

Refund Processing

Required

Once a refund is approved, Markood processes it to the customer's original payment method.

The Vendor Dashboard will display the refund status and any permitted adjustment to the vendor's balance. Bank and payment-provider processing times may vary.

Dispute Resolution

Recommended

Try to resolve genuine customer issues fairly through Markood's communication and case-management tools.

If the parties cannot agree, Markood may review:

  • Order information
  • Listing details
  • Messages
  • Photographs
  • Packing evidence
  • Delivery confirmation
  • Return evidence
  • Other relevant records

Markood's decision will be based on the Vendor Agreement, platform policies, available evidence, and applicable law.

Reviews and Marketplace Integrity

Review Manipulation

Prohibited

Vendors must not:

  • Create fake orders or reviews
  • Review their own products
  • Purchase positive reviews
  • Pressure customers to remove honest feedback
  • Reward only positive feedback
  • Threaten or harass reviewers
  • Use employees or related parties to manipulate ratings

Fair Competition

Required

Do not:

  • Sabotage another vendor
  • Copy protected content
  • Submit false reports
  • Manipulate prices unfairly
  • Create fake customer activity
  • Exploit technical errors
  • Attempt to manipulate search or ranking systems

Vendors may invite genuine reviews only through neutral, approved Markood processes.

Financial and Payment Requirements

Commissions and Fees

Required

Applicable commissions, subscriptions, payment-processing charges, delivery fees, and optional service charges will be disclosed:

  • During onboarding
  • In the Vendor Agreement
  • In the applicable commercial schedule
  • In the Vendor Dashboard

Payment and Payout Schedule

Required

Vendor Dashboard → Payments displays:

  • Gross sales
  • VAT information
  • Markood commission
  • Payment-processing fees
  • Delivery amounts
  • Refunds
  • Adjustments
  • Pending balance
  • Available balance
  • Expected payout date
  • Completed payouts
  • A payout may remain pending when:
  • The order is incomplete.
  • A return or dispute is open.
  • Verification is incomplete.
  • Bank information is incorrect.
  • A chargeback or payment risk is under review.
  • A contractual or legal reserve applies.

Bank Account

Required

Payouts are sent only to the verified bank account connected to the approved vendor business. Changes may require renewed verification and that will take up to 24 hours or contact support.

Tax Compliance

Required

Each vendor is responsible for:

  • Correct VAT treatment
  • Bookkeeping
  • Tax reporting
  • Business registrations
  • Invoicing obligations
  • Maintaining required records

Pricing Transparency

Required

Do not request additional payment outside Markood unless Markood has expressly approved the payment method.

Customers must not face hidden or unexpected charges after placing an order.

Promotions

Optional

Vendors may participate in approved Markood campaigns and offer genuine discounts.

Markood does not guarantee a particular increase in sales, search ranking, or visibility from participating in promotions.

Markood should not publish a general 8–15% commission unless this has been officially approved for every relevant category.

Markood reports may support reconciliation but do not replace professional accounting or tax advice.

Performance Standards

Markood may monitor:

Order Acceptance

Respond to new orders within the order timer displayed in the Vendor Dashboard.

Preparation Performance

Have accepted orders ready within the promised preparation time.

On-Time Handover and Delivery

Meet the timeframe applicable to the selected fulfilment method.

Stock Accuracy

Minimise cancellations caused by unavailable products.

Order Quality

Provide the correct, complete, safe, and undamaged product.

Customer Communication

Respond to live chat promptly when online and to offline messages within 12 hours.

Returns and Disputes

Respond within the case deadline and cooperate with reasonable investigations.

Customer Satisfaction

Use customer ratings as one performance indicator, but do not suspend a new or low-volume store based only on a small number of reviews.

Markood should publish exact numerical thresholds only after defining how they are calculated and allowing vendors to review and appeal incorrect information.

Policies and Compliance

Intellectual Property

Required

Sell only products you are authorised to sell.

Do not use another party's:

  • Trademark
  • Copyrighted images
  • Product descriptions
  • Designs
  • Patents
  • Branding

Data Privacy

Required

Protect customer and business information in accordance with GDPR and applicable data-protection requirements.

Do not:

  • Sell customer information
  • Share it without authorisation
  • Store it longer than necessary
  • Use it for unrelated marketing
  • Allow unauthorised staff access
  • Publish it in product listings or messages

Content Standards

Required

Listings and messages must not contain:

  • Illegal content
  • Discrimination
  • Hate speech
  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Explicit or inappropriate material
  • Misleading claims
  • Unauthorised personal information

Markood may remove suspected infringing listings and request proof of authenticity or authorisation.

Report suspected unauthorised access to Markood immediately.

Product descriptions must remain relevant, accurate, and suitable for the marketplace.

Violations and Consequences

Markood considers:

  • The seriousness of the violation
  • Whether it was intentional
  • How often it occurred
  • Customer harm
  • Product-safety risks
  • Available evidence
  • The vendor's cooperation
  • Previous policy history
  • Depending on the circumstances, Markood may:
  • Provide education or request a correction.
  • Remove or hide a product listing.
  • Restrict selected account features.
  • Place the store under performance review.
  • Temporarily suspend the store.
  • Terminate the Vendor Agreement for serious or repeated violations.

Serious fraud, counterfeit goods, unsafe products, illegal activities, or customer-data misuse may result in immediate restriction while investigated.

Pending vendor money is not automatically forfeited. After suspension or account closure, eligible funds are handled according to the Vendor Agreement and applicable law after permitted refunds, chargebacks, fees, reserves, and other lawful adjustments are resolved.

Vendors should have access to an appropriate review or appeal process for decisions based on incorrect information.
